Playing Online Poker
When you play poker, blackjack, craps, etc. you play against another person. When you play blackjack, you are playing your cards against the dealer. When you play craps, you are playing your dice against the shooter.
With video games, you play against a computer. The computer will roll the dice and determine what cards you have and what cards the dealer has. You can either win or lose. Sometimes you will win and sometimes you will lose. Of course, you can’t always lose. How else can you take “bad beats” into account if you are playing online poker, craps, or bingo? arning a quick ten thousand dollars? Definitely not. Playing online tournament poker for a couple hours will definitely add to your bank account. Playing cash games for a few hours will NOT add to your bankroll. Think of it this way. If you love to play poker, but you do not have enough time to play a tournament every day, then play ring games, and earn a bit of a bonus, while you play in a tournament. Play cash games for a few hours, win a bit of a bonus, and then you can play tournaments and win a bit of a bonus, and then play ring games, and earn a bit of a bonus, and then, you art bound to start earning because you are making money.
The worst thing you can do when you play online poker is to play limits that are too high. Most of the online poker rooms have wait listed features. Ask the question, “Are the wait listed games really worth playing at?” Most of the time the answer will be, “Yes”. But you have to remember, most of the time the answer will also be, “No”. You have to find out for yourself. What is your biggest weakness in poker? Do you want to be put to a test for a good hand? Do you want to be put to a test for a bad hand? If you are not at your best, you will not be at your best when you play online poker.
Online poker differs a lot from playing in person to online poker. The number one thing you should remember when comparing online poker to playing in person is in the speed at which the game is played. When you play internet poker, you have the ability to play 5 or 6 games at once. Couple that with the fact that most players play at computers for a few hours a day, and you can see why online poker is becoming more and more popular. Most players have a fast paced game with minimal down time. You might think this is a disadvantage, but it’s actually an advantage. You don’t have the attention span of a television-viewer to wait for an answer when you need it, but when you play online poker, that’s exactly what you’re going to get. You can’t put down a tell nor can you fast forward any type of information gathering process. Information is key in online poker, and you can’t get left of your tournaments.
Online poker has become so much more advanced in the way it is played. Players are more skilled, and know what is going on when you push the action. You can’t do the internet things that you can in person, like being able to act like a champion at a game of heads and tails. But, you can definitely play poker and get a highly potent experience. If you’re not into viruses, and you like fast action, then you definitely should play online poker. By the numbers, it’s a very entertaining and challenging game.
